on foot from utrecht central station
Follow the signs and take the exit for the regional bus station (streekbusstation). Walk through the bus station with the tram (sneltram) stop on your left, then turn left over the tracks at the end of the tram stop platform. Walk straight on into Moreelsepark, over the viaduct, into the Mariaplaats with the conservatory (large light-yellow building) on your right. Turn right, and then first left, which is first still part of the Mariaplaats, but becomes Zadelstraat. Walk straight on the end, over the Oudegracht and through the cathedral (Dom) gateway into the cathedral square (Domplein). At the cathedral square turn right and then take the first street left, called Trans. Walk to the end, where the Nieuwegracht runs to the right. Turn right, and after about 100 metres you’ll see Tinker’s building at number 13.

To tinker: follow the signs to the city bus station (stadsbusstation). The bus station is at street level, so you will need to go downstairs from the main Central Station area. Take bus no.2 from the city bus station in the direction of the Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier). Get out at the Hamburgerstraat stop on Lange Nieuwstraat. Cross over and walk down Hamburgerstraat to the Nieuwegracht, which runs parallel to the Lange Nieuwstraat. Turn left into the Nieuwegracht, and a few more steps will bring you to the Tinker building at number 13.
Back to the station: turn left out of Tinker’s front door and take the first street on the right, which is the Kromme Nieuwegracht. Walk along this street until it bends to the left, but then continue straight on into the park. Here you’ll find a footpath that runs beside the canal. Follow the footpath to the left, with the canal on your right hand side. Continue walking until you exit the park at a main road (Lucas Bolwerk). On the other side of this road you’ll see a bus stop, from where you can catch a number of different busses that will take you back to Central Station.

From Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag and Den Bosch
Approaching Utrecht on the A12, keep to the right-hand lane. This is the Utrecht ring road, signed in the direction Utrecht & Arnhem. Take the Hoograven exit (exit 18). This takes you back under the A12, signed to Hoograven - Lunetten. Take the exit signed Stadion, Centrum (Stadium, City Centre). At the Stadium turn left. At the traffic lights turn left under the motorway. Now follow route A. below.
From Arnhem Approaching Utrecht on the A12, keep to the right-hand lane. Signs will first show Utrecht - Nieuwegein - Breda (A27), then Ring Utrecht-Zuid, and then Ring Utrecht - Nieuwegein. Take the Hoograven exit (exit 18). This takes you back under the A12, signed to Hoograven - Lunetten. Take the exit signed Stadion, Centrum (Stadium, City Centre). At the Stadium turn left. At the traffic lights turn left under the motorway. Now follow route A. below.
From Amersfoort
Approaching Utrecht on the A28, signed to Ring Utrecht - Den Haag, continue on the A28 in the direction signed Centrum - Rijnsweerd. At the end of the A28 turn left at the traffic lights in the direction signed Stadion (Stadium). Take the first exit (signed Stadion), and at the end turn right (signed to Diakonessen Ziekenhuis). Now follow route A. below.
A. At the intersection drive straight on into Rubenslaan, and continue straight on under the railway viaduct, where this road becomes Venuslaan. Turn right at the second traffic lights into Tolsteegsingel, then take the first left over the bridge. You are now in the Nieuwegracht. On the other side of the canal, almost at the end of the Nieuwegracht, you’ll find Tinker at number 13.
From Breda - Den Bosch
Approaching Utrecht on the A27, signed Ring Utrecht (Oost), follow directions to Ring Utrecht (A28). Take the exit signed to Rijnsweerd - Veemarkt. Follow directions signed Veemarkt-Rijnsweerd. Take the Rijnsweerd exit. At the roundabout turn left in the direction signed to Wilhelminapark - Wittevrouwen. Now follow route B. below.
From Hilversum
Approaching Utrecht on the A27, continue until the exit signed Veemarkt - Centrum - De Bilt. Take exit 30, turning right in the direction signed Veemarkt – Centrum (Cattle Market – City Centre). At the roundabout turn left in the direction signed to Wilhelminapark, then turn right in the direction signed to Wilhelminapark – Wittevrouwen. Now follow route B. below.
B. From the roundabout follow the signs for 'Spoorwegmuseum' (Railway Museum). At the first traffic lights, turn left into Museumlaan. Over the railway crossing, drive three-quarters of the way around the roundabout and take the exit into the Maliebaan (centre lane). Continue along the Maliebaan, then after the second traffic lights take the first exit to the right, over the bridge. You are now in the Nieuwegracht. On the other side of the canal, almost at the end of the Nieuwegracht, you’ll find Tinker at number 13.
