rijkswaterstaat has ‘LEF’

LEF future centre opening week

‘LEF’ means ‘courage’ or ‘daring’ in Dutch. And daring to be innovative and to tackle problems in new ways is increasingly vital. The complex problems faced by our society and the Rijkswaterstaat rank among the greatest social challenges of the coming fifty years. They can no longer be solved within existing frameworks. The LEF future centre facilitates the creativity and imagination that are needed to arrive at future-proof solutions. LEF has been created for Rijkswaterstaat employees and others who want to break through traditional confines and think and act outside the box.

During the LEF opening week, several events were organized that allowed both employees and partners to experience LEF for themselves. Various spaces were opened and, although LEF is never the same for more than two days running, visitors were given an impression of the possibilities the place offers. Visitors were able to compose their own programme from elements including Walk-in-Workshops, the Multimedia Theatre, the Overture, ‘Cinema 100 years Lef’ and a ‘LEF Yourself quick-scan' in the experimental garden.
