The Utrechtse Heuvelrug (‘range of hills’) is a municipality in the Province of Utrecht that offers peace and quiet, nature and variety on the edge of the busy Randstad. A perfect place for a quick and short escape from the hectic activity of the cities. But it has also had an outdated image and too few possibilities for overnight stays. Our challenge: to develop an ambitious plan to stimulate and inspire businesses and authorities in the area.
Meerwaerd Estate combines the perfection location of the Heuvelrug with an innovative marketing concept: last second booking for instant peace and quiet. Families with children have almost nothing to pack. Meerwaerd takes care of everything. Active seniors can do whatever they fancy during the day and listen that same evening to the rustling of the trees. The form of a country estate ensures variety and that it fits in attractively with the landscape. Meerwaerd was second in a competition with other proposals – it was too achievable.
