what’s it like to be a soldier?
politically incorrect, but definitely exciting!
The Army Museum approached us with an assignment that may seem politically incorrect but all the more challenging for that: let young people experience what it is like to be in the army. Not a popular subject perhaps, but that makes it no less important. It is these soldiers after all who serve as peacekeepers at home and abroad. To gain a little more insight into their work can do no harm. And it’s a really exciting experience of course!
Action: a training course in eight activities. Objective: the successful completion of a mission. The skills of the young visitors are tested on an assault course, they learn how to locate mines and lead each other through dark rooms. The results of the training courses are reviewed at headquarters, and then the real work begins. Somewhere in the war-torn ruins of the little town there’s a bomb that must be defused. But your skills will be tested to the limit and you’ll need your wits about you, because there are snipers and booby traps out there, and time is running out...
